I am saddened at the loss of Matthew Shepard. However, I am one who feels that some good comes out of every event. This incident, though tragic, is certainly bringing together people with all sexual orientations.

GLBSA is tentatively planning a panel to inform the IIT students of the recent attacks. Not only will we be there to inform, but we hope to include two gay men who have been victims of hate crime to enlighten students and answer any questions.

Any members who are available are also planning on being involved in vigils, rallies, and other events that are being held.

For National Coming Out Day, GLBSA painted our school rock (text included "GAY IS OK"), and members and allies were encouraged to wear a sticker showing their support.
