- Carolinas Black Pride Movement (CBPM) was founded in August of 2005 by Jermaine Nakia Lee. After serving as co-founder & vice president of the historic and record breaking Charlotte NC Black Gay Pride 2005, Jermaine sought a broader vision to foster and celebrate Black Gay Culture throughout the Carolinas.

- SC Equality Coalition
- In February 2002, for the first time in the history of the LGBT community in the state, leaders from LGBT and allied organizations were invited to meet to discuss the environment for LGBT people in South Carolina and how we could work together to effect change. From this meeting, SCEC was born.
