Kai Wright is a Washington, D.C.-based freelance journalist. While his work focuses
largely on health and sexuality in the African American community, he writes on a wide
range of political and social issues affecting communities of color and sexual minorities
around the world. His work appears regularly in publications ranging from New York City's
Village Voice to Venus (www.venusmag.com) magazine, a nationally circulated periodical
serving the black gay community. He has written for Salon.com, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Washington City Paper, among other publications, and is a former staff reporter for the Washington Blade (www.washblade.com) newspaper.
