Gay Celebs Get Local in the Fight Against AIDS
Chad Allen, Marcellas Reynolds, and Rupert Everett Take Action
Gay Celebrities Chad Allen, Marcellas Reynolds, and Rupert Everett are stepping up to support local AIDS Service Organizations in their communities. They will be riding, walking, and even bowling to raise money to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Out Actor Chad Allen will be participating in the AIDS/LifeCycle, a 7-day, 585-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Allen recently starred in the film End of the Spear. Allen's next film 'Save Me' which co-stars Robert Gant and Judith Light, is currently in production.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center. Allen has already surpassed his $10,000 fundraising goal for the event with the support of friends like Robert Gant. [Click here to support Chad in AIDS/LifeCycle]
Marcellas Reynolds (Big Brother) also hopes to raise $10,000. He has entered Project Angel Food's Annual 'Bowling for Angels' event. Project Angel Food is a free meal-delivery program that nourishes the body and spirit of men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses. They deliver nearly 1,200 free meals to people every day throughout Los Angeles County.
Marcellas is fondly remembered from the CBS reality show Big Brother. He appeared on Season 4 of the show, and more recently has hosted an online call-in show about Big Brother for CBS. Im Miami, Actor Rupert Everett will be serving as Grand Marshal for the Care Resources AIDS Walk. Care Resource is South Florida's oldest and largest HIV/AIDS service organization serving both Miami-Dade & Broward Counties. Everett, caught the nation's attention with his performance in My Best Friend's Wedding. Everett gave voice to the 'Fox' in The Chronicles of Narnia, and is currently working on Shrek the Third, in which he again provides the voice of Prince Charming.
