Gay Witchcraft
Christopher Penczak on Empowering the Tribe

For the first time ever, a study of the Gay Witchcraft tradition will be published in June 2003 by Weiser Books. There has been no other book published that presents a practical handbook on Wiccan tradition for the LGBTI community, or explores world history and folklore from a homocentric perspective for the Wiccan community. Gay Witchcraft by Christopher Penczak is a unique blend of historical notes, mythological theory, personal observations, and instructional advisories on the theory and practice of Wicca - from a gay practitioner's viewpoint.

Gay Witchcraft serves many purposes. In the book, the author crafts a sketch of the gay presence in religious practices beginning from antiquity, and revisits and examines homoerotic (and homophobic) occurrences and their ramifications in world history. Gay Witchcraft is also an outline of the practice of Wicca as it affects those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (and straight).

Gay Witchcraft can serve as an introduction manual for gays (and people of all sexual orientations) who have felt displaced in more structured religious settings, and seek to explore and embrace alternative modes of spiritual practice. Gay Witchcraft can also be read by pagans seeking a different look at the Wiccan tradition. And for novices and practitioners alike, Gay Witchcraft contains spell-casting recipes and instructions to enhance the gay sexual experience, and offers exercises and instructions for carrying out year-round rites of passage in the Wiccan tradition.

Author Christopher Penczak is a spiritual healer trained in the Western Mystery Traditions of Wicca, European shamanism, flower essences, energy healing, intuitive reading, and guided meditation.
